We want to tell stories that disturb the comfortable and comfort the disturbed."

The Skeletal System

The Skeletal System

The Skeletal System is a company that champions character-driven contemporary theatre.  We aim to explore the infinity of human experience and stage stories that are thrilling, honest, and surreal.  Specifically, Will is interested in finding stories that are at once familiar and strange. His distorted, non-linear worlds help focus the very raw, age-old problems his characters face.

This juxtaposition of the known with the unknown opens our eyes to the mystery, magic and tragedy of the everyday. His heroes are often at the mercy of a world they can’t quite comprehend, and a child-like quality infuses their language and interaction that is both charming and terrifying.

Will O’Mahony is an award-winning actor and the creative director of The Skeletal System.  Since graduation from WAAPA as both an actor and director, Will has worked with every major theatre company in Perth.  His first play The Improved was nominated for the Artrage Theatre Award at Fringe World 2013, while his is follow up, GREAT WHITE, received universal acclaim, three 2014 Blue Room Theatre Awards, and five Equity Award nominations.

Alicia Clements supports The Skeletal System as a designer and producer.  Graduating from WAAPA in 2008, Alicia has worked extensively as a set and costume designer in Western Australia.  Alicia is currently based between Perth and London, where she is a design assistant to Isla Shaw.
