Biography
Danielle Micich Director
Danielle is an independent choreographer, director and performer. She performed with Buzz Dance Theatre for five years, toured internationally with SQUINT and was a recipient of an Australia Council Young and Emerging grant. Danielle was the Artistic Director of STEPS for four years and choreographed the Curriculum Council TEE Set Solo. In 2011 she performed inWISH with Humphrey Bower (Nominated for Outstanding Female Performer 2011), choreographed Plan B for Buzz Dance Theatre and Into The Shimmer Heat for Nova Ensemble. She is currently choreographing Barking Gecko’s Driving Into Walls and is the Associate Director for FOOD (2012) a co-production between Force Majeure and Belvoir Street Theatre.

Kingsley Reeve Sound Designer
Kingsley graduated from WAAPA in 1995 with a Diploma in Sound and from the Theatre course in 1998 as an actor. Now based in Sydney he works regularly with Sydney Theatre Company (STC) and teaches Sound Design at NIDA. In Perth he has designed sound and music for Black Swan (2002 – 2008) and for Perth Theatre Company since 2003. In 2005 he was nominated for a Helpmann Award for Best Theatre Sound Design on Black Swan’sZastrozzi, the Master of Discipline. Recent designs include Barking Gecko’s The Red Tree, Sydney Theatre Company’s Ruby Moon, Deckchair’s The Modern International Dead and Yirra Yaakin’sWaltzing the Wilarra. He has designed sound and music for Danielle Micich since 2006.

Gerard Van Dyck Performer
Gerard’s training and performance experience includes contemporary dance, slapstick, puppetry, motion capture, flying and acting. After graduating at the VCA he co-founded KAGE with Kate Denborough and has performed in all of KAGE’s award winning works. Gerard won several awards and clocked up 50+ performances of his solo The Collapsible Man. He has worked with BalletLab, Polyglot Puppet Theatre, Nat Cursio, Eleventh Hour Theatre, Legs on the Wall, desoxy Theatre and Sandra Parker. He chairs the dance panel of the Green Room Award Association, teaches at the VCA and is a regular guest on Triple R’s Smart Arts Program.

Leanne Mason Performer
Leanne is mother to two gorgeous young children and has come out of early retirement to work with Danielle on Shiver. She has been in and around dance from the age of four. Having trained extensively in classical ballet she enjoys the rigors of dance technique but has a strong affinity to the expressive, deeply personal, sometimes confronting physicality of contemporary dance. Leanne was nominated for Best Female Dancer at the 2006 and 2008 WA Dance Awards and was nominated for Outstanding Female Performer at the national 2006 Helpmann Awards. Leanne would very much like to thank her little family for the sacrifices they have made in their daily lives, giving her the gifts of time and space to be a part of this project.

Jacqui Claus Performer
Upon graduating from WAAPA in 2005 Jacqui began performing in the UK for Neville Campbell and Densemble Contemporary Dance Company. Since her return to Perth in 2008 she has worked with Buzz Dance Theatre, Strut Dance and as mentor to Link Dance Company. Jacqui has also worked with a range of independent choreographers such as Danielle Micich, Brooke Leeder, Alice Lee Holland and Chrissie Parrott. In 2009 Jacqui performed Chrissie Parrott’s Cyg.net for the Strut short cuts season earning her the title of Most Outstanding Dancer and Dancer to Watch in the Dance Australia Critics Choice Survey. In 2010 Jacqui was the winner of the Western Australian Dance Award for Emerging Artist.

Lewis Kilpatrick Performer
Lewis has been a regular company member of STEPS Youth Dance Company since 2005. He performed in Boys can Dance, Kissxx, Dash, No Space, Moonwebs and Scorched Thongs andPhoenix. In 2006 Lewis was invited to take part in a special STEPS educational project, which involved showcasing contemporary dance to disadvantaged primary schools in Perth northern suburbs. He was also the subject of a short documentary film focusing on boys and dance. In 2011 he performed an original solo at His Majesty’s Theatre for the Year 12 Perspectives. Lewis is currently studying Architecture at the University of Western Australia.

Joseph Mercurio Lighting Designer
Joseph has collaborated with some of Australia’s leading choreographers including; Stephan Page, The Australian Ballet, Sue Healey, Phillip Adams, Natalie Weir, Antonio Vargas, Fieldworks and Anna Smith. Joe was Lighting designer (Props) for Closing Ceremony of the 2000 Sydney Olympic Games. Since returning tho Perth in 2004 Joseph has designed for Black Swan State Theatre Company, Deckchair Theatre Company, both Opening and Closing public events of the 2005 Perth International Arts Festival and for the West Australian Ballet. Recently he has lit works for Tasdance, Buzz Dance Theatre and Night Train Productions.

Humphrey Bower Dramaturg
Humphrey is an actor, writer, director and dramaturg working across theatre, dance, opera and puppetry. In the 1980s he was a founding member of the Melbourne ensemble Whistling in the Theatre; in 2001 he co-founded Perth independent theatre company Last Seen Imagining, and started Night Train Productions in 2007. Over the last 20 years he has worked with the MTC, Playbox/Malthouse, State Theatre Company of SA, Black Swan, Yirra Yaakin, PTC, WASO, Deckchair, Spare Parts, Thin Ice, Steamworks, Ludwig, Anthill, TheatreWorks and ABC Radio National. He has previously collaborated with Danielle Micich on Orpheus and Eurydice and Wish.

Seonaidh Murphy Costume Designer
Seonaidh is a Perth based designer. She completed a BA (Art) specialising in sculpture and textiles at Curtin University and an Advanced Diploma in Fashion and Textile Design at Central Institute of Technology in 2010. As a graduate she was awarded the Banshu Hyogo Scholarship and travelled to Japan in early 2011 to develop textiles with the internationally renowned Banshu fabric manufacturers. Upon returning to Perth she produced a collection as part of the 2011 Perth Fashion Festival using the textiles developed in Japan. She has worked with local designers such as Garth Cook, Chrissie Catling (S2) and Kristy Lawrence (Flannel) and also designed and produced for events such as Hit the Roof and Aperitif. She plans to launch her label in early 2012.
